Portal User Roles & Permissions

Get a clear overview of user roles in the Federity-X Portal and what each one is allowed to do.

Roles in Federity-X define what each user can see and do. They're assigned during user creation and can be updated later in the User Management section.

👥 Common Roles

Role

Description

Company Admin

Responsible for registering connectors, configuring the company and managing users to ensure smooth operation.

CX User

A standard network user, suitable for most individuals. Can explore services and access business applications but cannot create agreements or order services.

Purchaser

Can subscribe to apps and services in the Marketplace.

IT Admin

The IT Admin oversees the IT operations between the corporate network and Catena-X, handling IdP configuration, technical user management and connector configuration.

Business Admin

Subscribes to apps/services, invites new users, and manages app/service access.

🧩 App & Service Provider-Specific Roles

Role

Description

App Manager

Can add, edit, or delete apps published by the company.

Service Manager

Manages company's services, assigns sales roles, and retires services if needed.

App Developer

Can explore the network and view technical integration docs.

Sales Manager

Involved in the subscription process and receives request notifications.
